Without Provocation

Posted Date: September 23, 2007 – Sunday – 2:17 PM

OK, before we start another war, I’d like to point out some facts:
1) Iran does not want to go to war with us. If we fight them it will be as the aggressors. link
2) We have no evidence that Iran is supplying Iraqi insurgents with weapons. link.
3) We have no evidence that Iran is building nuclear weapons. link
4) Iran is a founding member of the UN. link

I’m not saying Iran is perfect; it’s not. What I am saying is that if we start a war with them, the US will be guilty of unprovoked aggression, and this towards a fellow UN member.

Traditionally, the US has not been against war in principle, but it has been against warrantless aggression. In cases like that, we’ve always come to the defense of those being attacked. This can be argued for WW1, WW2, Korea, Vietnam, The Gulf War, even Afganistan; all were answers to aggression against the US or our allies.

Iraq is different. Iran would be different. This is the difference between being the “good guys” and being the “bad guys”.

  1. HI!
I think its lovely that you supplied sources but you sent news articles….Really? You read an article on MSNBC where Iranian officials say “nope we don’t want war not us” and “we don’t have weapons” and that is proof enough for you?I am really not attacking you, I am questioning your faith in the media to tell you the truth?Because I don’t have that faith:(
